She's On A Roll

Just as my fellow entertainment blogger expected, the Taylor Swift hosting of Saturday Night Live this past Saturday on November 7 turned out to be a great success for the 19-year-old starlet. Swift was as charming as she was--surprisingly to me--funny, stealing the spotlight in every character. As we all hopefully expected, Swift did make at least one reference to Kanye West in her opening "monologue song" where she poetically sang:

"You might be expecting me to say, something bad about Kanye and how he ran up on the stage and ruined my VMA monologue. But there's nothing more to say, 'cause everything's okay--I've got security lining the stage."

Within the same song, Swift also socked a few punches at ex-boyfriend Joe Jonas, and then followed up by not-so-discreetly confirming her romance with handsome Twilight star, Taylor Lautner.

However, my favorite SNL performance of the night would have to when she gave a driving public service announcement as a whiny, pubescent teen in "Teenagers Raising Awareness About Awful Parent Drivers," or "T.R.A.A.A.P.D."

Overall, Taylor Swift's performance on SNL this Saturday was well-received by audiences young and old, and if you include that with her sweeping the Country Music Awards last night, I would definitely say the gorgeous, talented and young musician is on a roll.

  1. I absolutely loved Taylor's performance on SNL. Besides the monologue and the driving PSA, which I also thoroughly enjoyed, the "Penelope" skit was another favorite of mine from last Saturday night. After the Kanye incident, Taylor has received so much support from her fans and has also received a lot of publicity.
She is clearly very happy about her current success. "I have said 'i love you' to so many people tonight. I can't stop hugging people. This is magical," tweeted Swift on Thursday, Nov. 12, following the CMAs.
I'm happy for her also. It's amazing to me that a girl my age beat long-time, big-name country music entertainers such as Keith Urban and George Strait to win the "Entertainer of the Year Award."
